Best Video Games for Girls

Most people think of boys being the gamers of the world, but there are girls who can give the guys a run for their money. So what are some games that are geared toward girls? Now it would depend on the girl’s age and preference. Not all girls are into the flowers and dolls. Some girls like many of the same games that the boys enjoy playing. But for the sake of argument this will focus on the girls who fit the stereotypical model of sugar, spice and everything nice.

There are several online game sites specifically for girls such as Games2Girls which has games in relation to cooking, dress up, make up and much more. Girl Games 1 is another site with dress up games and other games designed specifically for little girls. There are quite a few games designed for girls for video game consoles. Many of the Petz games are geared toward little girls just like the Bratz games.

The best way to determine what to get is to spend time with your little girl and play some games with her. As you learn what her interests are you will be better able to determine which games will be best for your child. The games do not have to be specifically made for little girls. Your little girl may like a car racing game just as much as your little boy, so do not assume that you have to get the game that screams of yellows and pinks with the flowers and the cute puppies. Take the time to get to know your child and what she loves to do. You may learn something new and be surprised. Play games and have family time.

Finding the Best Gaming Affiliate Programs

Affiliate programs work similarly to affiliate review sites. They provide you with information on different types of gaming that are available. Gaming can include video games, online gambling sites (including poker, casino, and sports betting), and online game sites (including sites that focus on only one specific gaming area). There are others, but these are usually the most popular subjects whenever gaming affiliate programs are discussed. Various Internet sites can provide you with additional information on gaming affiliate review programs, but here are three of the top sites for the specific ones listed above.

Top Video Game Affiliate Program

Gameseek is one of the most popular affiliate programs that focuses its attention on video games. In addition to providing you the gaming information you need, it also outlines the equipment required to play. The propensity to earn a high commission as well as offer visitors to your website is why Gameseek is a very attractive site.

Top Gambling/Online Casino Affiliate Program

In this category, iCasino, an online live dealer gaming casino site, can be considered one of the best, because it encompasses poker and casino gaming, as well as sports betting, which can include dog and horse racing.

Online Game Affiliate Program

Full Tilt Poker is one of the best affiliate programs for those sites that offer only one type of gaming affiliation. It is known for being the only online poker room that actually attracts professional poker players, as well as “regular” players, allowing “Joe Blow” to really test his skills against the pros.

If you operate an online gaming business, you may want to consider these three sites. In addition, you can also find information on other sites as well as tips on making your business more successful through other reputable affiliate programs you know of. The sooner you find the information you need, the quicker you’ll start improving and increasing your business.

The Evolution of Gaming

The term “gaming” today has a very specific connotation, conjuring up images of computer bound video gamers, rapt in their attention towards their desktop or laptop, controllers in hand. Video and electronic games are a multi-million dollar industry and growing, but did you know that even the most advanced gamer owes their modern day entertainment to the games played not by their parents and grandparents, but even their ancestors before that?

That’s right – the evolution of gaming should really be traced back to the first board games made by humankind. Currently, the oldest board game known is the Senet, an Egyptian board game from circa 3500 B.C. It would appear that this game had both an element of luck as well as strategy and since then many variations of game play have continued over the centuries, with each culture and era bringing rise to new innovations in entertainment. For example, whereas the Senet was board that was constructed, the game of Mancala was the perfect game-on-the-go since the game could easily be played without a board, just by creating grooves in the ground and using pebbles as playing pieces.

In modern times, board games continue to be both a favorite of children and adults alike and although playing cards has long provided generations of entertainment, there has recently been an increasing rise in the popularity of card and gambling-style games such Poker, Texas Hold’em and 21. This trend has created a style of entertainment all its own through the growing popularity of home game rooms. Sometimes just an extra room in the house, such as a spare bedroom or the formal dining room, and sometimes the entire basement or garage – their original purpose discarded to make way a complete dedication to these more physical styles of games, complete with custom poker tables, pool tables and dart boards.

Can Online Gaming Be Dangerous?

In every generation something is considered dangerous and the corruption of youth. Every form of entertainment from books, television and even music has been blamed for damaging the minds of children. Now the debate comes in the form of computer games. Online gaming has become more popular over the past few years and with an increase in popularity comes an increase in the worry of parents everywhere. One concern about online gaming is whether it can be addictive.

If you want to look at life in general, anything can be addictive to certain people. Some people become addicted to alcohol, drugs, collecting objects or animals. There are a variety of reasons for addiction and obsessive disorders, but there are resources for those who are may find themselves addicted to online gaming. The site On-line Gamers Anonymous is described as a “self-help fellowship” bringing people together to form support groups. On the University of California Berkley site there is a project called Unhealthy Gaming Habits and Addiction. This project covers the basics of addiction and takes the reader through interviews, possible solutions, a self-test and links to additional resources.

Children are not the only ones at risk for addiction to online gaming. Online gambling in adults has become a major focus recently. Often families are torn apart as individuals spend entire paychecks on gambling addictions. Online resources have made it even easier for a gambler to feed their addiction. There are a variety of resources for gambling addiction and a simple search can pull up sites on national or local levels.

If you feel that you or a person you know has an addiction to gaming it is important to talk to the individual. If a person is causing harm to themselves or to others it may be necessary to call for professional help. Research your area to determine what organizations are local to assist with addictive behaviors. The hardest part for an individual will be to admit that they need help. Support and understanding are very important in resolving addictive gaming behaviors.

Are video games distracting?

There are times when in certain gatherings it is tempting to argue whether or not video games are addictive and distracting. When a negative aunt at a holiday gathering nay-says a game given as a gift, one might want to say something.

A video game player who is old enough might want to say, “Oh, they aren’t so bad.”

The argument may carry on towards evidence of hand-eye coordination and successful integration into modern society. It may even reach that sometimes necessary phrase regarding the nature of the “times we live in.”

However, all of those arguments will be countered soundly with a few basic responses. And these very firm arguments against video game are so reasonable and grounded in evidence that they will likely keep that video game defender from ever speaking the first word.

The aunt will start with something like, “In my day we played outside.”

This, of course, is a stab at the strength and virility of the video game player in general. It is not just an allusion toward the general healthiness of fresh air. It is as if to say, “I would have been able to fight off a mountain lion when I was ten. You would probably be eaten because you spend too much time playing your games.”

The second argument she will front, however, is even more devastating because of it’s universally true nature. Playing a video game, any video game is a task which requires concentration. That said, it’s not the sort of endeavor to undertake whilst also attempting to have a conversation with someone.

The aunt will illustrate the negative manifestation of this truth by stating, “When he’s got his head stuck in those things he doesn’t have a clue what’s going on.”

True enough. Then again, that’s probably because they are so much fun.

Online Language

One of the surprising aspects of being anonymous is the increased urge to be aggressive, or just in general a showoff. Take as evidence the countless examples of foul, bigoted and offensive comments posted anonymously at sites like YouTube.

The same, sadly, is true for online gaming. And of course there is the added element of trying to destroy your enemies which can have a invigorating effect, causing even the most timid grandmotherly old lady to spew forth the sort of language that would make a pirate blush.

This is important to consider for parents who have young children wanting to play certain games online. There is a very real chance given the right conditions a young kid playing a cooperative shooter could get an early education the parents weren’t bargaining for.

A good general guideline to consider in this realm is to look at the rating of the game in question. The guidelines are pretty simple, with E for everyone, T for teen, M for Mature and so on.

It’s a reasonably safe assumption if the game is rated E it is the Disney version of an online game. That said, there are probably only going to be young children, or adults with the minds of young children playing. In some of these versions the chat options are even limited to a basic set of questions and responses, so there isn’t too much to worry about there.

With teen and mature games it’s pretty much the wild west when it comes to language and conversational content. With shooters like the Halo series and the Call of Duty line of games, there is probably going to be some cuss words and a good deal of foul language in general.

And for those offenders who just can’t play without using profanity there is always the mute player option.

Best Game Ever

With the multitude of video games options and platforms out there, it’s a daunting task for any critic to try and pick ‘the best’. Plus, what is good for one video gamer is subject to the opinion of the next gamer.

That being true, picking the right video game really depends on what the gamer is after. In the last decade certain terms have cropped up which can help the curious game shopper more accurately narrow down what they want to tell the teenage kid working at Game Stop they are looking for.

Here is a general list of some of those terms;

* First Person Shooter – Hello Halo, Call of Duty and the like. In these games the player will generally be viewing a battlefield of some sort from the perspective of the avatar. That means a couple of arms sticking out in front, usually holding some insanely powerful weapon. While there are various styles of game play within these types of games, the basis idea is to shoot, bomb, explode or otherwise vanquish the enemy.

* RPG – The video role playing game was invented for Dungeons and Dragons player who were tired of rolling the dice, or couldn’t find a good game master. In these games a central character will be able to expand on their abilities, items and equipment throughout the game. There is usually a sort of leveling involved, where experience pays off with a stronger character.

* RTS – The real time strategy is the short attention span’s answer to chess. These games commonly feature a playing board viewed from above, where the gamer can build resources, bases and armies in order to invade neighboring players.

Keep in mind these are only a few popular options and don’t include other massive genres like sports games, simulators, action and adventure and skill or puzzle games.

Using Game Reviews to Choose Appropriate Games.

PC games are extremely popular in all age groups. Knowing which games to purchase can be confusing at times, especially if you are trying to find age appropriate games. Using game reviews can help you decide which games you might be interested in.

There is such a wide variety of computer games to choose from, that it is worth the time to read a few reviews before you make a final decision. Educational games have great graphics, which can keep a young mind stimulated for hours. If an educational game is being played, there’s no better way to learn while still being entertained. Most PC games require nothing more then a computer, a key board and possibly a mouse to play, so the expense is kept low and the entertainment and educational value is high.

By reading reviews you can find out what types of games are available for a specific age group and which types tweak a child’s interest the most. Educational games are available for children as young as two. By using popular and well known cartoon characters, a child may be able to learn to read, count and memorize their colors at a much faster rate. Many parents use educational PC games to help their children begin to learn a second language. The benefits are unlimited. Game reviewers will normally write an honest opinion of an educational game that allow the parent to find out if that particular game is something that would interest their child.

PC sports games are also very popular. Not only do they allow the player to compete, they also teach the basics of the particular game. Children that enjoy playing sports on the field usually enjoy playing the PC version of the sport also. Reading the reviews for sports games is important because some may be rated for more mature players. Some may contain foul language that parents of young children might wish to avoid.

How Popular are PC Games?

Personal computer games, which are generally called PC games, have become one of the number one source’s of entertainment. People of every age group are enthralled with them and they can actually be quite useful when used for educational purposes. Parents are using PC games to help educate their children, whether it be to teach the basics of learning to share, or to help a child that may be having a hard time learning to read.

Aiding in their popularity is the fact that most PC games don’t require a lot of expensive equipment to play. All that is generally needed is a home computer, a key board and a mouse. For advanced games you may need to have a specific piece of hardware such as a special item called a graphics card. For Internet PC games you will need to have access to the Web and many times a dial-up connection will not allow games to play properly, so a high speed connection is needed. PC games have advanced so quickly that it is now possible to play games with people all across the world, from your own home.

Although playing PC games will never take the place of actually playing a sport or game in the physical sense, they can help keep the mind sharp. Computer chess is becoming quite popular as are most sporting games. By playing a PC game of chess, the players must show just as much concentration as they would need to if they were playing the game in person. Playing a sporting game on the PC helps teach younger children the basic rules and regulations of the sport, along with being entertaining.

As with nearly anything, too much of a good thing may not necessarily be best. Playing games on the computer has many advantages, but if a child seems to be becoming obsessed with it for hours on end, the parent may want to limit their time playing games.

Sports Betting is no longer for my dad

I still remember when I was a kid, I used to go to horse racing tracks with my father and we used to spent whole day there until all the race events were finished. My dad was passionate about horse races and I never saw him missing any horse race event. When I grew up a little and started understanding things I found that my dad’s love was not just limited to seeing and enjoying the horse races but he used to bet on different horses at different times.

My dad was very lucky in terms of betting as most of his predictions used to be true and he used to win huge amounts in his betting.  It would have hardly happened that my dad would have bet on any horse and that did not win the race. I think that my dad is blessed being so accurate in his guesses and that is why he used to earn a lot whenever he bet.

It’s been ages that I had gone to a horse race with my dad.  My dad still goes to horse races and enjoys betting and winning. I’ve always appreciated my dad for his unique talent and I always wished that I could participate in the betting and try my luck but could never accomplished my dream due to my hectic life style until I found out from my friend that there are several sports betting sites on the web that let people place their bets online. I was so curios to find out about such sites that I started googling straight away and found many sites that let people place their bets online. Now I keep visiting the betting sites from time to time to place bets not only on horse races but on other sports events as well. Like my dad, I also win most of the time! Internet has made it easier to bet and to earn some good money without disturbing my routine.
